Vulgar world

Vulgar World is home to a short but growing collection of art-related stories and essays. Some are more personal, some are more technical. All of them make us think about what it means to make art.

We publish them sporadically and contributions are always open.

The latest article is Art in Bed by Maia Layton-Thompson.

Sometimes we run workshops…

We just finished running a 6 week introduction to handbuilding course at Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Send us a message if you’re interested in getting involved in future workshops or want to work with us!

Secure Escape

β€˜Secure Escape’ was our first exhibition, generously held at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre from Feb 5th to Apr 2nd, 2022. The exhibition presented new individual and ensemble ceramic works that interweave themes of security and insecurity using craft-based practice as a framework for therapeutic dialogue. The pandemic, alongside climate change, has become an emblematic reminder for us that our future will look nothing like our parents’. This exhibition was a love letter to the security and comfort we found in our home during the past year of lockdowns, and a manifestation of fear for our uncertain futures. Read about it in The Canberra Times. View the works here.
